Interesting Facts:

Grassy Hollow is 100 feet from the Pacific Crest Trail, which goes from Mexico to Canada, a distance of 2631 miles.

The area around Grassy Hollow burned in 1997, a total of 18,000 acres, but the immediate area of our tall trees did not.

The Volunteers have recently re-signed the Lightning Ridge Trail, a 3/4 mile self guided nature trail one mile east of Grassy Hollow on Highway 2, as well as the nature trail at Table Mountain Campground, which is 3 miles east of Grassy Hollow - the entrance is off the parking lot at Ski Sunrise. Brochures located at the trail head will guide you through these trails while teaching about the forest.
